Drumming Techniques & Advanced Counseling Skills for Music Therapists

June 6-8, 2008 Sponsored by Seasons Hospice at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, IL

This course provides music therapists with advanced verbal counseling techniques and affords participants opportunities to practice skills in a clinical setting. Music has the power to evoke powerful emotions and experiences, and this course equips music therapists with practical skills in verbal processing such emotional content. Drumming is a powerful tool for unlocking, releasing, and expressing emotional content. This course will teach therapists how to utilize this intervention in their clinical practice as it relates to advanced counseling skills. Participants in this course may earn 20 CMTE credits.
